Two positions will be on the May 6 ballot
PASADENA, Texas — The San Jacinto College Board of Trustees approved to call for an election for two positions at its regularly scheduled meeting on Jan. 30, 2023. Positions 1 and 2, currently held by Mrs. Erica Davis-Rouse and Dr. Ruede Wheeler, respectively, will be on the ballot in May.
The first day for candidates to file for a place on the ballot for the San Jacinto College Board of Trustees election was Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2023. The filing period will close on Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at 5 p.m.
Those who wish to run for election to the San Jacinto Community College District Board of Trustees must meet all of the following requirements:
The location for filing in person or by mail for the election is the San Jacinto Community College District Administration Building at 4624 Fairmont Parkway, Suite 200, in Pasadena. The hours for filing are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 to 5 p.m. The College will be closed for normal business operations on Feb. 9; therefore, the office will not be open for candidates to file on that date. Completed applications may also be sent via email to elections@sjcd.edu or faxed to 281-998-6324 by the filing deadline of Feb. 17, 2023 at 5 p.m.
Voters in the following school districts elect the seven San Jacinto Community College District Trustees: La Porte, Deer Park, Pasadena, Galena Park, Channelview, Sheldon, and portions of
Clear Creek, Pearland, and Humble. Elections for the San Jacinto College Board of
Trustees occur every two years, in odd-numbered years. The Board is elected in numbered
at-large positions, 1 through 7, and serve six-year terms.
