Hispanic Outlook magazine ranks San Jacinto College on Top 50 lists
PASADENA, Texas — San Jacinto College ranks fifth in the nation for Hispanics student enrollment on The Hispanic Outlook on Education Magazine two-year schools (bachelor’s degree as highest degree granted) list. Hispanic Outlook expanded its list of community colleges to acknowledge that some community colleges now offer bachelor’s degrees in addition to associate degrees and certificates and separated those two categories of schools into two lists.
San Jacinto College had 20,275 Hispanic students enrolled in the fall of 2021, giving the College a 64% Hispanic population. The College also was ranked No. 7 for number of associate and bachelor’s degrees granted in 2020-2021, with 2,899 degrees awarded to Hispanic students.

That’s why being named among the top 10 of these national lists is important because it shows our success in assisting our students in all of their achievements.”
According to data presented in the April issue of the magazine, San Jacinto College had 20,275 Hispanic/Latino students enrolled during fall 2021, or 64% of the entire student enrollment. The College also had 2,899 Hispanic/Latino students — or 58% of the total students enrolled — graduate with an associate degree in the 2020-2021 academic year.
San Jacinto College is a federally designated Hispanic Serving Institution as defined by the U.S. Department of Education. An HSI must have a full-time equivalent undergraduate enrollment of at least 25% Hispanic origin at the end of the award year.
