How to Apply

After you’ve been admitted to San Jacinto College and have your student ID in hand, follow these steps to apply to one of our advanced medical imaging programs.
  1. Gather Your Official Transcripts

Before diving into your application, order transcripts from all colleges you’ve attended — including San Jac. Submit your transcripts to Admissions for evaluation and submit a PDF version with your program application.

  2. Save a Degree Evaluation

Next, head to your account in the Secure Online System (SOS) and process and save a degree evaluation for the program you’re applying to.

  3. Verify Your Licenses

If you are applying for Computed Tomography or Mammography, you will need a copy of your  ARRT certification and state MRT license with the Texas Medical Board. If you are applying for Magnetic Resonance Imaging you will need your certification in ARRT or ARDMS.

  4. Request Course Substitutes

Already taken a course at another institution? No problem. After submitting your official transcripts to admissions for evaluation, submit course substitute requests — including your student ID and a description of the substitute course — to the medical imaging department before applying.

  5. Submit a Work History Form

If you’re looking to get credit for hands-on work experience in the medical imaging field as a registered technologist, fill out and submit a work history verification form for consideration.

  6. Apply!

Gathered your documents? Filled out your forms? Now you’re ready to apply. To apply, please submit an application during an application period.

There are two application periods for the CT and Mammography certificate programs: April 15 to June 1 for the Fall semester and September 1 to October 15 for the Spring semester.
